Zari, used on saree/ Lehenga borders, pallus, dupattas, kurtas, cholis and blouses, is vulnerable to oxidation, shrinkage and chemical exposure. They may change colour and look. Same is applicable for other metallic finishes, rich embroideries like Zardozi, Gota Patti and Kundan work.

Beaded embroidery, stones and sequins  have a tendency to come off during folding and transit. Even with utmost care and handling this problem persists and cannot be avoided.

Even if a garment does not have a DRY CLEAN ONLY label, first check it for color-bleed on a small end of the fabric, before hand-washing it.
